On Sunday, 21 June 2026, the Indian community, friends of India, wellness enthusiasts, families, and children will come together at Parc de la Cerisaie, Lyon, to celebrate International Yoga Day 2026 — a morning dedicated to wellness, music, togetherness, and the timeless spirit of India.
Organised by L’Association Frehindi, under the patronage of the Consulate General of India in Marseille, this celebration is more than a yoga session. It is a heartfelt tribute to one of India’s greatest gifts to humanity: Yoga.
Yoga is not only a physical practice. It is a way of living that connects the body, mind, breath, and spirit. From ancient India to modern cities across the world, yoga has become a universal language of peace, balance, health, and harmony.
In Lyon, this International Yoga Day celebration carries that same message forward:
wellness for all, unity across cultures, and harmony between people and nature.
The theme “One Earth, One Health” reminds us that individual well-being and collective well-being are deeply connected. When we breathe together, move together, and gather as a community, we create a shared space of calm, joy, and belonging.
This year’s celebration has an especially emotional touch. The official International Yoga Day T-shirts, specially brought from India, have arrived in Lyon.
For every Indian living abroad, this is not just a T-shirt. It is a piece of home. It carries memories, emotions, culture, and pride. It reminds us that no matter how far we are from India, India continues to travel with us — in our hearts, our values, our traditions, and our way of celebrating together.
For our French and international friends, it is a warm invitation to experience a beautiful part of India’s heritage and to join a community celebration rooted in wellness and friendship.
Every participant attending and taking part in the Yoga Day celebration will receive a free International Yoga Day T-shirt.

Since 2025, L’Association Frehindi has proudly supported the International Yoga Day celebration in Lyon, helping bring together people, cultures, families, and communities through India’s message of wellness and harmony.
The association has consistently worked to strengthen Indo-French cultural connections through education, language, creativity, travel, music, and community events. International Yoga Day is one of the most meaningful platforms for this mission because it represents everything India stands for globally: peace, balance, inner strength, discipline, and unity.
Through this celebration, L’Association Frehindi continues its commitment to creating spaces where Indian heritage is celebrated with pride and shared with openness.
This event would not be possible without the energy, love, and contribution of the Indian community in Lyon and the surrounding region.
From families who participate with enthusiasm, to volunteers who support arrangements, to children who bring joy and colour to the celebration, the Indian community plays a central role in keeping culture alive away from home.
Their contribution is not only organisational — it is emotional. They carry India’s traditions forward with dignity, pride, and generosity. They help make events like International Yoga Day a true community celebration, where everyone feels welcome.
L’Association Frehindi deeply appreciates the continued support of the Indian community, friends of India, volunteers, families, and well-wishers who make this celebration possible.
